I have always come across so many people and patients saying that homoeopathy is slow acting. Homoeopathy removes the disease from its root but the results are slow. Well the former part of the sentence is right, but the latter part is not. So read the following post to know how is it not true exactly.

Homoeopathy is a system of medicine which believes in treating an individual as whole which means the body, mind and soul cannot be separated from one another. You are what your soul is, you are what your mind is and you are what your body is. They are interconnected totally. So, when I say it treats a person as a whole, it means it takes into consideration all these aspects and tries to identify where the problem exactly lies. Your body parts and organs are not separated from your mind or soul. When anything affects you mentally you can always see those effects on your body and also when something is wrong with your body, supposing you have some injury, it always affects and alters your thought process in some way. And that is the exact reason why homoeopathic history taking is so long. Homoeopathic doctors try to understand each and every aspect of your life to know where the problem lies. And how often does it happen that anyone asks you about your stress? Only happens when you visit a homoeopathic doctor.

Homoeopathy also believes that each individual person is a completely different unit from another. Everyone of us must have read this "I'm a limited edition" on social media or any other platforms. Apart from just being a good caption it is absolutely true. Every person is different from another in multiple ways. Every person thinks in a different way, does things in a different way, etc. So when it comes to homoeopathy this still holds true. For example, there are 5 people who are having cold, cough, fever. But their nature of symptoms might be different from one another (except for epidemics). Hence, the homoeopathic medicines prescribed to them might differ from one another. That is why, homoeopathic doctors prefer not to tell the name of medicines to avoid self prescription.

Is homoeopathy really slow? The answer to this is NO. I'll explain you why. Homoeopathic medicines are capable of treating both ACUTE (short duration diseases like acute gastritis, acute bronchitis, etc.) and CHRONIC (long duration diseases like irritable bowel syndrome, asthma, etc.). Usually the patients with chronic diseases have the onset (beginning) of disease since long years, maybe 10 years, 15 years, 20 years, etc. And all that while multiple treatments are already taken. Those medicines act for that while and then stop acting; they have temporary relief. So patients already want to get rid of the problem as soon as possible. So if a disease going on for 20 years gets cured in 2 years (just an example), is it slow or quick? When the disease gets completely cured in 2 years, isn't that great? But 2 years may also seem a long time for patients who have undergone multiple treatments already. In cases of diseases of short duration like the ones mentioned above, the cure is seen within few hours to days. And yes, homoeopathy can be given in cases of fevers, cold, cough, diarrhea, vomiting, etc. also. So, it's a myth that homoeopathy is slow. First the effects of long term treatments on your body should wear off and only then cure is possible, which needs at least that much time.
